I am closing in on buying my 460, making use of the June 2025 offer for "free" options and upgrades.

Is anyone else here that is buying the same 460 or waiting for delivery in 2025?

Any advice from current owners on things to look for during ordering, delivery, and commissioning? I am sure it would be a long list, but if anyone has any suggestions, it would be great.

I was told if I order by May, they can deliver by September. Is that reasonable?

I live almost at the equator. Teak on deck, yes or no? Will it make the boat's cabins and saloon hotter?

Congratulations on your impending purchase.

1.  My impression is that the "free" options and upgrades are available at any date if you negotiate hard enough.   Its just a function of who you talk to (dealer, Hanse regional execs, etc.).

2.  There is an .XLS checklist many of us have used for commissioning.   More important during acceptance rather than decision, but its available if you ask.  Let us know if you want it.

3.  On delivery by September,  I would ask what build numbers are on the line and what build number you would be assigned.    I'd be surprised if you got it by September at this point unless someone's deal fell thru and one became available.  Once it hits the line it takes about that long to build, and then you need to consider getting it to where you want to accept it (boat travel,  etc.).    They do not go by air express :-)

4.   On teak, I had a teak deck on my prior boat and spent hundreds of dollars per year in cleaning and oiling it and taking care of the sikaflex.   On my Hanse I went with the Flexiteak, which I have been happy with for 7 years (now on its 8th).    I think both would be hot on the equator but I have limited experience sailing there.

Flexiteak is known to get unmanageably hot under the equatorial sun. Not sure about temperatures in cabins, but you cannot just walk over it. I kept my deck white, only cockpit area is flexiteaked but it is shaded by bimini. I didnt go for the real teak due to its maintenance as previous post described.

Thank you, for your kind comments!
Yes please, I would love to have a look at the commissioning checklist!

September delivery - I found out it actually means shipment out of the factory; it then needs to be transported half a world away and then commissioned...it will take some more time for sure.

I am thinking of staying with teak in the cockpit area only. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi, definitely go for the electric bathing platform. We also went for the Reacher, cockpit fridge and electric cockpit table starboard (gives 1 more bench seat).
