Hi all,

I have lost my companionway hatch.

Has anyone a drawing of the acrylic hatch?

Yes - I tried to rotate the picture, but my skills did not.......

Can you not just cut a piece of cardboard to fit & use that as a template? Then cut a ply panel as a spare until the new one arrives
I know that it does not help now but following a comment after the report of the Fastnet 79 disaster I have mine attached by a lanyard. So it can be slid under the hatch garage, but  if for some reason a crew did not do that it cannot slide over the side in to the water.
I also have a ply spare that sits under the aft bunk in case of a break. This is because one of our mooring holders had a break in. The thieves threw the hatch overboard. That was as expensive to replace as the bits they stole. It means that i have a pattern & an emergency hatch

Hello Samuel,
Commiserations at the loss of the acrylic hatch cover. I have feared the same for a while, though avoided the problem, more h luck than judgement, though it did remain in the companionway cover area after a rainy and windy trip.  I keep som clear acrylic and sealant to hand, just in case.
I have a 2005 312. Would you like me to measure the acrylic?
Also there’s a good guy not too far from you in Kent who produces acrylic of all types, and has done a similar job for me on a Sadler 32 some years back, and we are working through the hatches on my present boat. He is called Jean Pierre, details here:

All the best,

My apologies Peter and Samuel. It’s Denmark we’re looking at.
Sorry - a long day on the water.
I will gladly measure the hatch, and there may be an acrylic specialist local to you.

Hi Peter,

do you have the dimensions by chance? I would need it for a mosquito net:)

THX,

Zsolt

Hi,

I can measure the hatch once I go to my boat again.

Still interested?
