Are there any disadvantages besides the not working warnings and engine blower when I start the engine by using the start switch and not the power switch? I had an failure to push the power switch in and started the engine by using just the start switch.

If I understand correctly what you’ve done, you’ll potentially find the engine starts and runs, however the alternator may not get the right signals. So you may have no charging.

On our 2005-built 371 I need power to the system also to be able to shut the engine down with the stop button. Without power, I need to press the stop-solenoid on the engine manually.
