Hi, stupid question, but does anyone have an idea where the compass of the Simrad autopilot computer is located which is in a 2007 400e? I've opened all the cabinets, but I still haven't found the compass. 🫣

It seems it can be in a number of locations.
Mine is in the port aft cabin in the locker under the wardrobe.
Other locations are described in this thread:

On my 400E from 2006 it's located high up on the wall inside the port side locker in the forward cabin. I have also installed a second rate-compass in top of the starboard locker.

I have a 2007 build 400E, and the unit was at the front of portside locker in forward compartment. It is up quite high, well above the hanging rail.

You really need to get down low  and look up and to the right through the right hand door. It is not visible in normal line of sight, unless you are only 1.4m tall.

On my 2010 it's a couple of feet behind the water trap behind the saildrive, on the centreline. Under the locker lid covering the exhaust hose.

It should ideally be as close to centre and the waterline as possible to minimise movement.
