Dear colleagues:
I own a new 2022 Hanse 348. From the very beginning, when he boat was commissioned, placing the transmission from neutral to forward produced an audible and sensory "clunk".
The broker told me this was normal, that it was the folding prop "opening up". (The same broker told me that the reverse polarity red light was nothing to worry about.)
Recently a more experienced sailor was on my boat and fell that there was too much vibration when motoring at 1000-1200 RPM and that the vibration was better at higher RPM. He did not think the "clunk" was normal either.

Can you offer any advice?
Thank you,
Al

The clunk is normal on Yanmar with a dog clutch in SD20 sail drive. There are varying vibrations at different rpms on all boats. Even the manual says to drive the boat at a speed with small vibrations.
