Greetings.
I have just bought a 370e from 2006. On board my boat I have an old chart system, the Simrad GB40. After picking up the boat and sailing it towards my home port (in Bergen, Norway) I ran out of map. Is there anyone out there that knows if it is possible to get maps for this old system? On my GB40 the maps is installed via a memory stick (USB A) would it be possible to get a newer map in a memory card and run it via a memory card reader?

Thanks.
Chris

Hi

Perhaps it is not worth the trouble?

Hi

In 2018 I changed to a B&G zeus3. It is 7" but it could fit the hole in the nav pod. With an simnet to nmea2000 converter-cable it is plug-n-play. It can see data from all the simnet devices.

Btw.
When I bought my boat back from The Netherlands I ran out of map also, it was foggy an it was between Cuxhaven and the Kielercanal....

I had GB40 on my H370 and updated C-map once. Very complicated, had to get help from Simrad. Changed to Raymarine and very pleased. Brommeland in Haugesund gives excellent service if needed.

So it's just a cable simet to nmea2000 and it's plug and play?

If you choose Navico group products it is the most compatible. Like Simrad, B&G, lowrance.
My b&g zeus3 has wifi and with internet it could firmware update all my simrad equipment.
Simnet is Nmea2000, just with their own connectors
