Hi everyone hope you are all good!. Im new to the group and my name is mike and im based in the uk south coast near the solent.

Im in the process of looking for my first boat and been firm stuck on a earlier 2007 Hanse 315, all the bits i love all together in one boat and ive spent the last 3 years on and off searching so done a lot of research.

I cannot find on the web or on here about the hull construction materials, i know its solid laminate below waterline and sandwhich above and glass and balsa core but could someone shed some light on if they are infused or hand laid up?, viylester, polyester or epoxy?.

Also has anyone had or know of any issues for me to look out for (obviuosly will have a survey done) but has there been any known wet balsa cores or any keel issues anyone know of?

Thanks for now. Mike.

The Hull is hand laid and can have some voids - as I have found out. Again, I have had some voids in the topside. I'm based in Lymington if you want to have a look at a 2007 Model.

Hi David

Thank you so much for the reply its really appriciated. I was wondering about voids and possible chance of osmosis, interesting you had some void issues. Not enough to put me off at all as they are beautiful boats just something id have to keep an eye on.

Thats really kind of you to offer me to have a look at yours, id love to take you up on the offer to have a look and see one up close properly sometime if that would be possible?.

Thanks for now.

Mike
