was wondering about our "high nose" and others mentioned this here as well.

We filled the water tank, have a bowthruster and the standard 100 of chain and anchor
here is what she looks like:

(stern for some reference)

Curious to here your thoughts.

She sails great, can more weight improve this?

Brent, looks pretty good to meThumbs Up. And it looks like you are pretty much maxed out on what you can load on the bow. Try to see with empty water tank, I bet you will notice the difference.

Looks the same as mine with similar load out.

My 575 looks even more out of trim.   It sails great, but I've often wondered if it would be better with a lowered nose.

I put a stainless steel anchor guard on the bow.   4mm thick and pretty large.
I have put cases of water, drinks, canned dog food and other passage supplies forward.
I have two 4D 24V batteries for the bow thruster in the bow, along with the thruster itself.
I have 4 bicycles (2 of them e-bikes) in the bow.
I have an asymetrical spinaker in the bow.
I have a spare anchor with rode and 50' of chain in the bow.

And yet......  still a high bow.

I'd love to know what tricks others have used (if anything works) to lower it.

I'm glad it is not just me. Spend quite some effort on emptying out the at lazarette and move as much weight forward, but with similar result. Was contemplating moving my Lithium battery bank from midship to under forward bunk, but expensive

There are some designs where that 'bow up' attitude at rest is deliberate; Dufours are the 'racy' arm of Hanse and they sit particularly high at the bow when alongside.  It would be interesting to observe from another vessel what the bow actually does when at sea.

I would be very careful when shifting heavy weights in attempt to compensate for this perception.  The bow is the second-worst place to put weight in a boat and I echo Marsella's comment; try less weight and see what happens!

If the boat sails well, then 'if it ain't bust don't fix it'....

My 2024 looks similar.  bow thruster, 300' chain. code zero.

Also lists slightly to port.

I was going to address both.  leave it alone?

Im more concerned that my stern sits low.   The water line is just at the top of the boot stripe.

I asked about this issue and was told it is designed this way.  The reason is that the bow will not dig into oncoming waves and instead will ride above them, making the upwind and downwind ride smoother. I have sailed my 458 offshore in 30knt winds and waves and with reefed sails she handles very well, even under auto pilot. I was advised to NOT over weigh the bow.

My H455 is much the same. I have a fully loaded sail locker (RIB; Code Zero; fenders; spare fuel; spare warps etc). Plus a bow thruster.

Sure they're all like this.

Maybe designer got his CG/CB calc slightly wrong giving vessel a slightly nose-up attitude ... and Hanse never thought to correct the waterline datums?

For us the problem is not at the bow but the stern where ~100m of the non-antifowled hull gathers weed, barnacles and tube worm ... and most annoying of all, the generator exhaust bubbles at the waterline.

Never had that problem (stern/weeds/grass).  That sounds more like bottom paint problems.

That said,  I always wondered why Hanse did not just modify the boot stripe to reflect the higher bow / forward buoyancy.   The bow appearing to be high seems to be the visual effect of the boot stripe rising and bottom paint showing more than on other boats.   If the stripe was lowered, you might not even notice it.

It‘s the same problem with the 460.
High nose and low stern, laying to portside.

No, defo not a bottom paint issue.

Bootstrap touches waterline at stern then there is ~30mm white gelcoat below the waterline before the Coppercoat at the location shown but as hull angle becomes more horizontal below transom, there is ~100m of unprotected hull in the water that grows weed/barnacles/tubewrom.

Our boat does have generator and air-con options but RIB is currently on foredeck, water tank is full and we don't have a solar arch ... so could be much worse for some owners.

I agree, why did Hanse not fix this, our hull is 164 ... surely they had noticed a problem by then!
