Hi

Do you have any numbers on the real weight of your Hanse 400 ?

Today the crane guy reported 10.8 Metric Tons on mine.
How accurate are these crane gauges ?

Usually far more accurate than the specs for the boat.

The specs don't include options like electronics, generators, electric winches, or extra sails.   They also don't include things like full water and fuel tanks.  Not to mention paint if you have the hull painted.    These can add up to thousands of pounds of weight.

I found out the hard way when one of my prior boats was being shipped from the west coast to the east coast of the United States.     I used the specs for weight and thought I was safe by adding a few thousand pounds.    It ended up *STILL* being a few thousand pounds short.  We had to pull all new paperwork and the boat was held on the truck in Oregon until that happened.

Nikolaj - agree completely with Rick as that weight appears much the same as my 400 with all the wife's shoes cruising kit onboard.  Dry weight of a non-epoxy version 400 is about 8500kg.  If you then do a mental exercise going around each section of the boat adding up sails, fluids, equipment, clothes and food etc you'll add a surprising amount to the total.

The penalty of having such an easily-driven lightweight hull as the 400 is the fact that added weight affects it much more than on a heavier displacement vessel.  Everything's a compromise.

11T in full cruising mode is about right. Probably higher for the lift if you have dinghy, outboard, 6 person liferaft and haven’t yet swapped LA batteries for LiFePO4s. Don’t forget to drain the water tank :)
