I have a leak in the roof in the joint into the aft cabin. Does anyone have an idea where it could be coming from?

Hi! I can't upload the picture, it's clearly too high resolution. but it's leaking from the joint in the inner liner in the roof into the aft cabin where the inner liner is screwed together

I normally have to reduce the size of images uploaded here, most photo editing tools can do that.

Anyway, at a guess, I’d suspect that a deck fitting is leaking. Either a winch, or if you have it fitted the traveler for the main sheet. Over time, the sealant can harden, and fasteners can work loose.

I had to remove and reseal the main sheet traveler a few years ago for the reason. It doesn’t help that water collects in the deck recess where the traveler is mounted.

It’s a pain to get behind the inner liner in the rear cabin, but unscrewing the bits you can reach might allow you to get your phone camera in there to take a look.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have had a suspicion that it could be the trawler. I'll start with that. I have noticed that when the boat is stationary and not in use, rainwater collects on the starboard side of the cockpit bench so it is possible that there is a leak at the end of the track on the port side because the water disappears there after a while.

I once had a couple of drips out of a screw hole in the aft cabin liner (dunno what the hole was for, must’ve been before my ownership) after an enthusiastic deck wash which accidentally got a load of water into the deck locker on port side. I assume there is some small connection through from that on my boat at least, but it has never happened before or again in 14 years. But it might not be that in other boats, and as said it could be almost any deck fitting in the cockpit area.
