Hi, am considering buying a second hand Hanse 325. Looks like a lovely boat but from what little information I can find, I am worried that it might be a bit slow.

Ideally we would like a cruiser that can comfortably reach 5 knots or more above 12 knots of wind.
That can comfortably sail to windward, and that handles well in bigger seas offshore.

But some reviews describe it as a coastal or lake cruiser. And the logged speeds seem quite slow.

Any feedback welcome! Thank you

I don't think the 325 has less performance than my 320.
With 12 knots true wind I can reach easily 5.5/6 knots, accordingly to the points of sail and sail plan.
She can surely and comfortably sail to windward.
No experience on big seas (I experienced only short period 2 meters waves on broad reach with good results though)

We are sailing a H320 too - the boat is basically identical to H325 in terms of Rigg, Sail, Hull and keel.
The boat is a bit on the heavy side; a large sail option (Code 0 or 105% Genoa) is recommended for winds below 10 knots.
A set of good membrane sails with a kind of fat furl jib and with a main sail with overrounded aft leach is perfect.
Above 10 knots, the boat is pretty fast, specifically upwind. The performance upwind is better than most boats in similar size - except performance cruisers like First 31.7.
On the other hand, we did nether loose control, even in hard gusts. The deep rudder is perfect to avoid issues like broaching.
