Jonathan,

There is something strange with the forum time.  It looks like you are in the Moscow time zone?

EDIT:  It seems that the problem exists that badly for me only when I am logged in. After logout the time (of a sent post) is like in Sweden. Is it somehow connected to Johan's promotion to Rear Admiral?

Test post at around 09:32 UK time....

Now the server has moved to europe it is GMT +1. What are you seeing?

Sorry for delayed answer…

The “official” forum time is usually without any importance. I hadn’t earlier even paid any attention to how it works. Then, one evening, I recognized that a message I wrote a few minutes ago was written “yesterday”. Now I think I understand how the system works:

 1. When logged out, all the times seen are shown as GMT+1 (Central European Time).

2. When logged in, all the times seen are modified using the personal value you have given in Forum Preferences/Time offset when you registered first time to forum.

3. Before the Website update (20th November), the server time was GMT. (At summer time it was BST, just to make it more confusing.)

After the update, most people may still have the old offset time. I think it is quite trivial problem if you know how the time works.

I saw myself transferred to Great Britain for a while. Now that would be a promotion, wouldn't it?

Update 6th Jan 2008

I have noticed over the last couple of days an issue where users got an error saying that the database was in use and the page did not load.

We have now made some changes and this should now be resolved. If you do see this error please let me know.

Good idea Alan to thank Jonathan (and Hanse UK) for this great forum. I fully agree.

When I decided to buy my boat with Hanse UK, they decently sent me to the Dutch dealer. (Eventually I bought mine with the Belgian dealer, but he had to ask the Dutch dealer to invoice me (for tax reasons).) But for my next Hanse (whenever that will be) I will insist on getting it supplied through Hanse UK!

I would also like to thank everybody who's keeping this great forum alive, and in particular the webmaster. Thanks Jonathan!

I will never buy another Hanse for the simple reason that I had decided that Emilia would be the boat I'd keep for the rest of my life!

So the question is if I would have bought her if I had known what I had ahead of me in terms of the many faults and warranty issues that have cost me so much time and effort and still haven't yet been fully solved. The simple answer is "no".
