Hello all,

Does anyone know if the radar multi pod of lewmar  http://en.lewmar.com/products/index.aspx?lang=1&page_id=296&part_number=89400274 - http://en.lewmar.com/products/index.aspx?lang=1&page_id=296&part_number=89400274  can be attached to the steering system of the Hanse 411. Has anyone done this?

I am planning to replace my current pod with the radar multi pod and install a C80, the autopilot and a Simad VHF handheld in the pod.

Cheers,

Michiel

Michiel,

I have a wide lewmar pod for all displays, but the only thing to check is whether the pedastal guardrail width (stainless support on your photos fits to spec of your new pod. i presume that as both are lewmar, this shouldn't be a problem.
reading the product sheet, it says  FOR 304MM - 12"   guardrail ONLY.

Michiel,
Please be aware of the fact that your compass will not give an accurate reading anymore if your vhf (or any other device with a loudspeaker) is so close to it.

Alex,

Good remark. I haven't thought of that. I will look for a different position.

Thanks,

Michiel

Well I found out that the radar multi pod of lewmar does not fit. The tube is too small. With some additional work and some help of friends I got it installed in the end.

We have cut the top of the tube, extended it 170mm en put it back together. I am quite happy with the end result.

Here are some pictures of the work done:
