We have just bought our Hanse 411 2nd hand late last year.

Last weekend we were checking the navigation lights and the following strange thing happened:

When I switch on the tricolor light, both tricolor and the mooring light lite up (in the top and on the switch board).

The same happens when I only switch on the mooring light.

The cable to the mast seems to be connected correctly. I haven't had time to check to cables behind the switchboard.

Has anyone else seen this?

Cheers,

Michiel

This would seem to indicate a short between the two circuits, possibly in the mast itself. Perhaps a screw (that mounts something on the mast?) has been driven through a cable on the inside of the mast....

Steve,

Two lamp connectors in the top of the mast were connected to each other. Now it works fine.

Thanks,

Michiel
