In our 350 I never know when our small holding tank (30 liters) is full, so I am thinking of placing a level indicator.

As the tank is made of stainless steel and I do not want to make holes in it I'm thinking to use a level indicator called Gobius 4, this is the link: http://www.gobius.se/fmmarin/index.asp?mainId=134&cat1=145&show=145 - http://www.gobius.se/fmmarin/index.asp?mainId=134&cat1=145&show=145
it says measures from outside with vibration.

At it is not cheap 280Euro + VAT, and I never seen it working before, before I buy I would to know if anyone has had any experience with it or if any one has anything similar, or if any has placed any kind of tank level indicator and how have done it.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I installed the Gobius 4 last weekend. Tested it and so far it works fine. Installation was very easy. I ordered it here: http://www.tek-tanks.com/ -
The price was £166.20 + Carriage and VAT so in total for me EUR 231,10 (about £200,-) . payment was by Credit Card and it was delivered within 1 week.
cheers

ps I do not have any relationship to this company!

Hi,

my company is the Danish agent for this product and can give you a special Hanse Owner price for version 1.0 both steel and plast tank.
(the only difference to version 2.0 is no NMEA 2000 output and another way of calibrating)

Send a PM or contact via http://www.smilysailing.dk - www.smilysailing.dk

My advice is to remove the metal tank and replace it with a larger plastic tank that you can just look at to determine how full it is. See my posts regarding my replacement project 'Holding Tank Vent Issue". See my last post with the photos. I more than doubled the capacity. Best improvement I have made to the boat.

@iliohale,
Did you check if the plastic tank can hold the full pressure of the head pump, just in case the vent blocks?Evil%20Smile

Can anybody help? The idea of what Gobius does is great and could be just what I am looking for.  I have checked the gobius website and was interested to see that there is an NMEA 2000, so if you are connected to the standard Gobius display, with this NMEA signal will it display any readable data onto any other display for example one of the standard multi function display?
Any info greatfully received on this. Prehaps Abstinenz can shed some light on this as he mentions his company is the agent for this in Denmark

Hi Holby,

You need an adapter, like Maretron analouge adapter, between Gobius and the NMEA 2000 system.

I upload a cuople pictures.

Instead of totally removing the wood to acceed to the tank I did cut it. Then it was quite easy to fit a door, that I can open any time I want.

The biggest problem was  to cut the wood as thereis no much space behind, between the wood and the holding tank. Sika wich was holding the original  mirrow was also a problem as it is so stuck that I couldn't remove it.

The only goo think is that when the mirrow door is closed you can not see anything of this.
