Good idea Petdro.  I just had a "why-didn't-I-think-of-that" moment.

How well is it working for you?  My problem is the dirt that collects on the "brim" of the sprayhood from peoples hands.    Do you find that people are using the openings and keeping the rest clean?

Does not really help anyone else, but the sprayhood fitted at Hamble by Hanse UK comes with a really nice and very sturdy handrail which is why I did not take the factory fitted option.

Hi Siler,

As you requested here are a couple of photos of Selene's sprayhood as fitted by Hanse UK with grab rail. If its useful to anyone the hood was made by a firm called Covercraft Ltd in Southampton UK, [URL=http://www.covercraftltd.co.uk], Tel +44(0)2380575727.

For anyone trying to cure an existing hood from handmarks, one trick I have seen work well on someone else's boat was to use a piece of stiff grey foam insulation as sometimes used on domestic water pipes of appropriate inner diameter, slice it down one side, and then fix it over the aft-most "pipe' of the hood.

Hi!
Nice rail! Do you have any close up pictures of the fittings in the end of the rail? Can you tell how much you paid for this?

Hi Marco,

The fittings at each end are covered over with leather and stitched in so I cannot show them.

The price was £1,426 fitted in the UK by Hanse UK as opposed to £1,336 for the standard hood as factory fitted in Grieswald.
