As the electrics of my Hanse 371 seems to be of a bit of mystery (without any manual) I have started to wonder one quite important question.

Does the mains battery charger charge the batteries if the battery selector switch is on 0 (off) ?

I have also found out that on the nav station main electrics panel the battery monitor shows  zero amps for 2nd set of batteries even though
when measured from batteries all of them seem to give good readings and wires seem to be all in good contact.

Any Advice?

HI 371 # 241
On my 371/106 2002 I always switch off both master switchs (same as 0 on yours) when I leave the boat and can confirm the batteries are charged by the mains battery charger.

A simple check is to look at the battery volt meter. With the switch in 0 position; if you have 13.8 volts or greater the charger is charging the batteries. If you have to 12.5 volts or less no charging is taking place.

Mike
