I am in the process of buying a 545; could anyone advise me if is it worth paying an extra 24500 euros for the epoxy build hull with white gellcoat or stick with the standard spec; & what is the difference ? Also 9200 euros for the hydraulic transom opener sounds a bit extortionate, any alternatives or suggestions ?  Thanks.

The epoxy question is an interesting one. When i ordered my 400 in 2006 I went for epoxy as it was billed as lighter, stronger and less susceptible to osmosis versus the "standard". However, as I understand it, the "standard" has now changed so are the reasons still valid?

As for the options, I have found very few options that are priced reasonably (and I'm not just talking boats) so if you analyze it from that perspective you will likely only frustrate yourself. For the hydraulic transom opener perhaps talk to the dealer and see if something can be done more economically during commissioning - that's a how I did a few of my options.

Congrats on the decision!

When we order our 545e (februari 2010) the extra for the epoxy hull was 13.900 euro,so you have to pay a lot more now,if you dont use the boat for racing (less weight) than there is only the osmosis problem and for 24.500 euro you can do other anti osmosis treatments.
I see on the new pricelist that the standard sails (around 10.000) are now included and Hanse remains the standard price for the boat(275.000) the same.
About the hydraulic transom door,we have taken this option,it is not cheap but it is custom made for Hanse I think, and not a serietype product. If you go to a specialist firm for this custom made work the price will IMO not cheaper, hydraulic is expensive and the installation and elect wiring is a lot of work.
Hope this will help you
