Having recently purchased a Furuno GPS 32 I note that it recommends the ground wire for the display unit should be connected independently i.e. seperate to the signal ground when there is other equipment to the positive ground battery.    Has anyone connected to the engine ground and if so is it straightforward?

Hi Dave,

I also have a Furuno 32 on my 312. I have no special grounding and it works fine.

Regards Thomas.

Thomas,

Thanks for that.  The reason for it is to reduce any likely interference with other radio equipment.  It may be 'belt & braces' I don't know.  Presumably you have had no problems ?
