My husband and I wanna buy a H445 (we've got an Beneteau Oceanis 423 and with 3 children want more space and ... a new boat ).

The big question is, for us : is it possible to sail with an open bimini (my husband has to avoid direct sun.

Thanks !

Hi Paprika, we sail with an open binimi all the time and get great shelter from the sun, I assume you mean no sides when you say open.

Bienvenue sur MyHanse Paprika
Aucun problème pour utiliser le bimini en naviguant...mais comme toujours ça dépend du temps et du vent...et aussi de la taille du bimini!
Bon choix que le 445 même si je n'aime pas trop la quille...
PM'me if you need to know anything else.

Just got some pictures of original Bimini and Sprayhood. Still under commissioning.
Maybe it is of interest although the threat is quite old already.

Hello,

I am the owner of Hanse 445 nr 12 "Midi Etoilé".

I have a NVE bimini and I can use it when sailing.

You can find a picture here:

http://www.nvequipment.com/pages-en/produit-fiche.php?id=39768&modele=2429" rel="nofollow - http://www.nvequipment.com/pages-en/produit-fiche.php?id=39768&modele=2429

Actually this is a picture of my boat, as it was the first one for which NVE designed the bimini and sprayhood.

You will soon find more pictures on my website: http://www.midi-etoile.com" rel="nofollow - www.midi-etoile.com

I have a Bimini and Dodger on my 445 and  sail almost all the time with them up.  We also sail with three kids and find the boat to be very comfortable.

Hi Lake Ontario,

We just ordered a Hanse 445 but I'm not really convinced with the original sprayhood and bimini. The bimini is attached to the deck which makes harder to move around. Also i found the sprayhood to shallow.
I really like your bimini and dodger . Are you happy with these? Did you notice any inconvinent with yours? How they are comporting when the wind picks up? Are they confortable while sailing? Could please end some more photos?

Best regards from Turkey,

Berky

I'm very happy with mine. The dodger is perfect, the only change I would make on on the bimini is have it start 4 inches behind the boom as it gets in the way sometimes when we're sheeted in hard on the wind.  In heavy wind I unclip the canvas and fold up the frame.
It's a great boat you'll love it. We just hauled the boat for the season, but I'll look through the picture files to see if we have any good canvas shots.

Hello,

Great Dodger. Was this a Hanse Dodger? I just ordered a 445 and I think I may have my local, and very good, Canvas/Dodger contact make one for me. A lot more features (grab rails, open front) for approx the same price.

Thank you,

Matthew

No I had the dodger made locally here in Toronto. Congrats on the boat!
