We recently purchased a Simrad TP20 Auto tiller and are now trying to work out the best way to attach it to the starboard cockpit seat.  The cantilever bracket accessory seems to be too long, and we don't fancy having a bracket sticking outwards.  Same problem with the upright accessory.  Has anybody else tried to fit one and if so what has been your solution?

Thanks

Use a different tiller bracket - there are a number of sizes available.  And instead of the upright support for the unit use a flush mount instead - you drill a hole in the cockpit seat and there is some kind of insert that lines it.  Ask your local Simrad dealer and they will be able to show you the options.

I had a tiller pilot fitted by the boys up in Windermere before delivery. They fitted a fairly flush socket on to the backrest behind the cockpit seat. When I want to connnect the Pilot I screw a pipe into this and the pilot lug fits into a hole on the end of the pipe. They have fitted the tiller bracket under the tiller so that it does not get in the way of the tiller extension. It all works well
