HI,

Now I have a bruce ancher of 15 kg as head anchor. I will use this as second anchor and will buy a new anchor. I have been looking at both delta an plastimo kobra. Hanse has delivered the 411 with a 16kg Delta. Is 16kg enough or is it recommand with a 20kg.

Does anyone have som experience?

Hi Erno,

although not very often at anchor the standard supplied 16 kg delta is enough until now. I must add that i took 50 mtr of chain extra. I think if you stick enough meters it will work rather good anayway.

I find that a 35 pound CQR also fits the anchor roller on the 411. The locking pin on the 411 will even go thru the locking hole at the crown of the anchor. It is a little light for the job- but with some extra chain it holds well in most conditions. I also have a 16 pound fortress- which is a very light anchor- but the largest that will fit in the anchor locker ready to go. The fortress 16 holds very well in the soft mud we get on the Chesapeake Bay in the USA- and these two anchors create a very light solution for simple cruising. I was wondering if anyone has found a 20kg (45 pounds) that fits the bow roller? I would like to go up a size but the 45CQR, Bruce, and Simpson L do not fit.
