 I think everyone likes photo's, and we have sailed Revelry nearly every weekend since we brought her, we have logged about 570 nautical miles. so here are some photos from last weekend's cruise around Arran.The fastest we have managed is 8.9 knots, she sails well and is very forgiving, reefing is very easy and the self tacking jib makes it easy with a young family to single handed sail.  Lamlash Bay and Holy island on the horizon.  driving is childs play, Laura is driving. No wind all day.  Still Loch Ranza is always lovely.  Finally some wind,    even the dolphins come to see.    We are having a great time sailing our 385. I hope my photo's are not too boring but I always like other peoples photo's so I assume others will like some of mine.Jon ------------- Jonathon. |

Jon, Many thanks for sharing your nice pictures from an area unknown to me. I had to Google Lamlash Bay to find it. For sure not boring at all, as you I like to look at pictures from other areas. Your boat looks great, we have one but she is still in the Baltic as we have been messing about there most of the summer, We will be at our holiday home in Lamlash from the 29th August, never met you but be good to see you in the bay, we have in common a good taste in boats, we like Arran, and I would guess you like the Kings of Leon, Kerr, of 385#91, "Kite" |

Jon, on your second photo I notice your sheet is direct on your jib withwout pulley,it's your choise? On many Hanse the sheet start on the pully on the rail of the selftaking jib go on a pulley on the jib ,return to the pulley on the rail and go in the mast. François, The lack of block on jib is not only a choice. This block is no longer provided with the yacht. Francois,
I also use for my self tacking headsail, a line that goes though a block on the tacking rail directly to the headsail, as I find it is the easiest method. I tried using a block with a beckett directly onto the headsail, and the line feed as you described and i went bqck to a single line as I felt i had more control, this is prob. only a personal thing. Also when you are hit accidently with the block it hurts more than without......
These are just my personal thoughts and I am sure others hwve there own views, it is down to personal preference really.

We do not have any difficulty without pulley system on Jib so I have not thought of alternative although I have seen it on other Hanse's. Jon. ------------- Jonathon. |
