I sail my 311 from Pwllheli,in North Wales, and intend to do some racing in the coming season.

Have any owners obtained a valid PYS number? I have just bought a new 138% genoa and have a folding prop. The RYA list of PYS numbers does not cover any Hanse models yet.

My club handicapper have given me a PYS of 920 but I am told this is probably too low.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Chris,

I have been racing my 311 for 2 years now. My club PY based on PYS is 960 with folding prop, 120% Genoa shallow draft and spinnaker. I have also just got a IRC number:938. We are quite competetive with 960 and are continously under threat of having it lowered.
