We have sailed the CAM race and sailed from Lauwersoog (netherlands) to Larvik (Norwegen) and sailed this in 50 hours and 19 minites (average off 8 knots waterspeed . and with 6 Bft with genaker we topped surfing off the waves with 18.7 knots , our new record! continu speed was then 11.5 knots .We have become 4t place in our class ORC E greetings Marcel ------------- Kids Dingys 72-79 ,Several Windsurfboards 79-86 OK dingy competitions 86-92 , Trotter Pandora Race 92-98, Friendship 28 Sport 98-05, Hanse 370 06-...... |

Congratulation. If you pass thru Gothenburg on your way home, I will buy you a beer. My record is 12 kn with my 320. Philippsen: On saturday I had a lovely dinner out in the archipelago with Johan Hackman on this forum, then on sunday I had to go home (5nm) to my long go pregnant girlfriend (5 days left). I also had to go to work on monday. Top wind was 21.2 m/s. When i entered my harbour a had a speed of 3.1kn sailing only on the mast (no motor). Everything went well, but nex time I want to be one more person onboard. Here is a picture from the start before the wind went stronger.

Congrats to that speed ! During our summertour we have a nice trip from Oeland (Norra Udde on anchorage) to Visby / Gotland; max was 13.7kn with main (2 reefs) and jib up and it felt like flying already ! I would probably be scared of damaging something going any harder but if the conditions are fine, this must be perfect fun!!------------- S/Y Vertigo Hanse 375 #805 |

The time we went over 18 knots we had 50 knots plus and a high sea, I was beyond scared and in survival . Plenty of times in the 12s and 13s surfing of waves. I have great respect for my 370 and think there is little chance you breaking anything blasting along at speed. simon ------------- Swanned off |

this picture above was wenn we were in the camrace.
an other ship beside us took this picture.
I asked him why he did nog take a picture of us surfing on the waves , but this already was a lucky shot he sayd.
