Hi,

Great forum... that I am sure I will be a regular on soon! Wink

Looking to buy a 2004 411 and we found the self tacker jib 'I beam' 'track' has cracked all the way through on one end and is showing signs of failure on the other. The 'odd' thing is it looks like this track has been 'extended' about 5cm on each end inboard of where it meets the deck supports and it is this join that has failed and cracked... the track is now unusable!

Does anyone have a similar experience and does anyone know where I could obtain a replacement track section please?

As an aside... well actually quite important, is the boat easily sailed and 'handled' by just 2 older people!

Cheers,

Peter. Smile

for your aside, we sail the 411 from 2003 with the two of us (both in the 50''s). We did install a bowthruster after 2 years. we do not have electric winches (but the electric winch to hoist the main would be nice). The boat handles fine. It is a real nice boat for longer (sea) trips.
