Dear All,

I picked up new 325 Hanse in April. The water and fuel indicators do not work properly. They always show that there is 100% of fuel and 100 % water in the tanks, even if they are merely empty. The indicatiros are integrated with switchboard of the boat. As lack of information, how much water is in the tank is causing mad my wife, improper information how much fuel is, can be simply hazardous.

The local dealer, whom I notified about the problem, after several attemps to remove defects, said that neither he nor the shipyard is able to solve the problem. I am not qualified engineer, but how this such popular device cannot be repaired? Has anyone of you already expierenced similar problem? I am also a little bit concerned about shipyard's attitude. It is not fair that they do nothing about the problem. thanks in advance for any piece of advice.

Dear Luke,

What panel do you have? Just today, 70 days after notifying the issue to my dealer, a similar problem - not exactly the same - has been fixed in my Hanse 345. I had the Calira panel, which suddenly started to give wrong indications, such as battery levels for three groups when I have two, no fuel level, and missing switch off function - I had to shut the main off.
I asked my dealer to send me the same panel so to quickly change it myself; she asked me a picture of it to stay on the safe side (!) and a few days later I received the new TEV0605 as if I had asked anything different. So this time I wrote to both dealer and shipyard that the new panel has different connectors and wiring, and therefore both connectors and drawing / instructions were needed.
As a result I received the connectors a few days later, but not even a word.
To make a long story short, it took a long time to my dealer to find somebody willing to work w/o specs from the shipyard, I myself found manuals in the web and today the work was carried out.

So what I can tell you is that the dealer should at least be able to get new instruments from the shipyard.
Unfortunately it seems that for those of us not living in UK or Australia, support to our boats calls for patience.
Apologize if I omitted any other good examples.

One more comment, that should at least relief your wife: it's not what you wish in a new boat, but you can easily check the water level if the tank is transparent like mine; in the H345 it is below the main bed.

Brgds,

Maurizio
