I am cooking up an idea of taking Gertha to Bermuda for the Americas cup in 2017. Bermuda has a massive natural harbour and is days from anywhere; so the chance of filling this area is zero. The island is expensive ; but anchoring is free, however there may be a fee of some sort , staying on own boat has to be favourite . The trip will be a multi leg affair !. UK to Canaries summer 2016, either via Portugal or the Azores, poss in 2 separate legs one in june and one in september 2 Canaries to Caribbean mid November / December 2016 using ARC + cape verdi 3 Caribbean to Bermuda May/June 2017 4 Bermuda to UK but maybe USA Paying volunteers required for all legs. Anyone else thinking of taking a Hanse to Bermuda for this event. Simon ------------- Swanned off |

We also cross the Atlantic from Cabo Verde in nov/dec 2016 tot Surinam and then further on to the Caribbean. After that we go to the N/E of the USA. Sounds a good idea ! Bermuda is lovely, we were there in 2005 ! |
