Does anyone had a word on their boat for May that there is some thing wrong in the production line and that there is a delay of allmost a month. Our salesman at Hetterschijt Medemblik told us last week our boat was ready for final inspection on 28 or 29th of May. Today we phoned Hetterschijt how about hull number and motornumber for our financer for the 80% payment. Our salesman seems to be on holyday and his replacer told us about the delay (we orderd a 320). (Now we have to cancel our holiday). According contract they had to inform us by letter about a delay but they did not take the efford.

Hello Yemanja,

We have ordered a 400 during Boot Dusseldorf end of january and the expected delivery was end of June.  The boat will be delivered next week. In fact 3 weeks earlier.
I have the idea that some models were made on stock or at least some parts like hull and deck. May be not for the 320 model.

Getting a new hull number looks like an adminstrative mistake. May be they sold the same boat two times.  Hope the delay will not be longer for you.

Hello,
I have the same info as Wessel. I am being told by my dealer that the production has accelerated and my boat could be delivered earlier than expected. I am waiting official info from Hanse next week.
IMHO I suspect that something else is going on with your boat. You better check it. Do you have a hull production number and a order confirmation by Hanse. It is even possible that the dealer forgot to order your boat. Mistakes happen as we all know.

We got a so calld slot number from our dealer. We never had a confirmation from Hanse factory about the delivery. Do you know how to get in contact with the factory? I would be very thankfull for that. We feel completly helpless now and we are affraid our holiday (we allways spend on our boat) is in danger. (the prommised it would be easely in time, because by buying I said that if it was not deliverd well before the start of our holiday we would wait till fall.).

Hi Yemanja,
What we have is the slot number (#035) and my dealer give a copy of the electronic order confirmation issued by Hanse ,naming me as final owner, to check the ordered options. In this way I know for sure that the dealer has ordered my boat from Hanse and that all options are correct. The delivery date and/or  Hanses production shedule we don't have.
Since the delivery date is approching I asked for an official notification which the dealer promised to send next week.
I suggest you contact your dealer first and if you are not satisfied with their answers then to address Hanse directly- you don't want to make your dealer upset because you need him to rig and debug the boat!Wink

@ Panos

Thanks for your reaction. We did not recieve a copy of the electronic order confirmation. We will call our dealer monday to send us such a copy. I hope this copy has a date so we can check when the order is placed. I will let you know if I hear any further.

Upate on stagnation:

Our dealer did send us two documents from which is not clear there is official placed an order and/or an official confirmation with a date and signature.
All the fun of buying a new boat is spoiled for us, and I think I give up. (next time a Beneteau again? we bougth one (Oceanis 281) 12 years ago and everything went smoothly, no problems with delivery or any screw wrong after delivery). We wanted a more sportif sailer this time, and after a test drive we were sold. Now I wonder.

Yemanja,

Same feeling here. Also had no problem with anything with our  281 oceanis. We went for the better sailer too but it looks like we all are doing the testing and quality control for Hanse and the dealers don't seem to know what they are talking about.

A sample:

During the delivery of our 350 the sales guy was going to show us how to use the CX 33 plotter. First he did not know how to open the little compartiment to put the C-map chip in and after I suggested he could push the little button next to it it opened and he said whow, that's how it goes.
Next no idea how to put the actual chip in. Had to call a another salesman to find out.

I could not work like that. I would want to know how things work and be able to answer any question from customers coming my way.

All these guys are to young to have any experience. (i'm talking about the Dutch agent) Their only boys !

Regards, Willem

Hi Folks,

Just thought I would take a few minutes to explain how the ordering system works, which may help explain the slot numbers and delivery timings.

Each dealer needs to pre-order their boats for the whole year in June (we have just done ours).  In August the factory will come back to each dealer notifying them of slot numbers and the month in which they are going to be delivered.

When you choose a boat the dealer will have a list of slot numbers allocated to him/her and a delivery date only accurate to the month in which it is planned to be completed in the factory.  It is not known at this point if it will be at the start or the end of the month.

If the factory decide at some point in the year that they are able to produce more boats than their original plan they will choose a new slot number (the highest) and slot this in where they can.  For this reason slot number #545 could well be completed well before #492.

On behalf of the Uk dealer the factory have been very accurate this year (only a couple of delays) and the quality has been very good.  As you would expect being in a close knit industry it sounds although Hanse have been considerably more accurate for their dealers than other builders.

I hope this helps.
