I have also bought a frictionless ring and I'll be experimenting with this once I have worked out how to tie the hitch/whipping to attach it to the clew!

I tried that for a while.
Couldn’t quickly find a picture of the setup I used. I found that under high tension, it is not so frictionless, more friction than a good pulley

I found exactly the same. The rings are 'low friction' not 'no friction' and certainly have plenty of uses, but I wouldn't normally use one where a line bends 90' or more and needs frequent adjustment.

On my 430 I am in process replacing the blocks. All mast base blocks last year with Rutgerson. In a box across the room from me now are all the blocks for the mainsheet for when I get back to her. I also have new sheeves for the deck organizers. My Jib has selden blocks that the PO installed. The Lewmar blocks from the factory are crap at this age. The plastic keeps breaking off.
I have settled with the Rutgerson blocks because of many choices and cost. I'll let you know how they work out.

Hi
I use 2:1 and a Ronstan block without Becket, but instead a thru-hole tie point. My Jibsheet is 10mm dyneema. /H8jer

Although much smaller yacht I upgraded (quickly afetr delivery) my track block to Harken 57mm Aluminum Block — Swivel, Becket (ref 3216).
A bit expensive but works so fine ! Still looking for a suitable one for light clew block (must stand the load & to be very hardly shaken)
