I am thinking about mounting a radar on my 370.

What is the best position for it on a 370

Mounted  in friont of the mast. Does it work with the selftacker?
Mounted beside the Mast on a spreader?
Mounted on a seperate mast behind the helmsman? What kind of mast?

Any help is welcome.
Post fotos if you have.

Thanks a lot.

Radar mount

This is the topic I was thinking of when I replied to your post.

I have (am) considered fitting one myself and I was thinking of fitting it at starborad at the stern.

Blake, this is my configuration stbd side of mast as provided from new late 2006 by Hanse & Aztec Marine electronics at Hamble. No issues with radar or self tacker or cruising chute and snuffer,

Thanks Anthony, looks strange on the side, but it seems it works, as some Hanse do have it this way. Do you really see all on both sides on the radar?

What type, company of mountingarm do you have?

Peter, no issues on both sides with target tracking, couple of cross channel; trips last year with shipping lanes very busy, fog on return trip (Brighton - Fe Camp - Royal Escape).
Sorry but I do not have that radar bracket information with me (I am currently in Saudi!!) except to say my boat is totally Simrad electronics - CX 34 at Nav station & DX34 at helm with appropriate bracket & scanner from Aztec Marine. If you give Dave at Aztec marine a call Tel:012380-455112 mob 07894040408 I am sure he can give you good advice.
If you are not resolved by early Feb I will be back in UK & can provide details. Further pic for you.

Good sailing, Tony
