I have made some changes to the forum today. As you will see we have introduced Regional myHanse. This section is designed for Hanse owners to talk in their native language about Hanse. Initially we only have Italy (as they have been first to request it) but if any one else is keen to moderate other languages please do let me know. We will see how this goes over the next couple of months. Secondly we have done another upgrade to the forum software so if you see any bugs or get errors do let me know. Thanks, Jonathan |

A French-speaking site would be great... Hanse diffusion is quickly growing in France and a number of owners should be interested.

I do like the idea of regional forums on one hand.
on the other hand íf every regional spoken language will be used, it gets more diufficult to understand things discussed in these forums.
i would like it if in the regional forums still english would be the language.
So everybody could inform himself about things happening in these areas too.

I agree with Blake. I think its a loss in information if there are too many topics in other languages then English. German I wil understand but all the other languages I would not understand. I prefer a international (English) forum. (there is a Dutch forum, but it is hardly used)

The other issue is that a forum only works well with lots of users - the more the merrier, otherwise there is not enough postings to encourage interest and more postings.
Have a look at the Australian http://www.hansedownunder.com.au English forum (link at bottom of this forum) and there are virtually no posts other than from the administrator. |

I agree that it is better to share discussions in a single language that everybody can use. Regional forums should be devoted only to topics of regional interest (meetings, local information, owners searching...).

I sometimes wonder how many Swedes there are on this forum. It seems to me that we're not that many. Could there possibly be a language barrier?

IMHO, to share the knowledge about our boats, the questions we have, the doubts we have, I would suggest to have English as our forum language, and accept that not all sentences are written perfect.

I agree to keep it going in English.
In Holland we have also two forums , one by hanseclub.nl and one by myhanse.nl , and both have little response compare to the site we are on (myhanse.com).
Here we have responses from all over the world and so we can see people having different view on things wich are happening.
And our English is maybe not so well (like mine) we do understand wath we mean and somtimes we can translate by diferent websites for exemple
greetings Marcel
