Anyone tried to drill a hole at this place and found out that there is indeed an metal reinforecement at this place, like the drawings say? Asking because I dont see it from the bottem, so if it's there it's really in between different layers of glass. But, my guess is that's it's not there and the drawing is wrong.

The aluminium plates are in the glass layup. I have found several when changing or adding equipment. The only one I have found to be underdeck in under our bow sprit.

My 355 is built the same way
There a rectangular 10 mm thick aluminium plate under pushpit foot.  It extends approx 10 cm sideway (near your arrow on pic).
You can easyly see it from the lazarette.
I've set a pad eye there to increase backstay purchase.

Hmmm, typical Hanse:-( Mine is #004. It's not there. Not visibele, where al the other reinforcements (bow, clamps etc.) are visible. So my guess is that the reinforcement there is something they did after buidling some 320's.....
Thx for your feedback!

Hi,
Why you need to drill a hole?

You probably have pretty good internal access to this area so why not just drill through and if you don't find a reinforcement plate, use a bolt with a penny washer and nut on the inside?

Instead of making holes in the boat or using a fixed particularly-made stainless fitting, I just use a 12 cm climbing dyneema sling (a few euros) that goes through  the big shackle; at  each  sling loop end  there is  attached another shackle one for the main block, the other for spliced 6 mm dyneema strop.
I find this solution very effective.

There is reinforcement indeed. It’s, unlike the other reinforcements, laminated between the different layers. It’s 8mm thick aluminium, beginning after 14mm polyester. So, made a nice padeye with M8. Problem solved!
