Haha, luckily The Boss and I are hoping to get there probably on the Wednesday, weather permitting.. It will a first visit by the boss, but I have been many times here and to the Distillery.
Hopefully, there should be space...
As far as I am aware, from here there is only my self and one other Hanse looking to arrive in Lochranza, for this period.. Hopefully more will come..

Seriously, I will be leaving Bradwell around early/mid June (subject to weather) for another Round England SH trip (taking the whimps option via Cally Canal again).
Hopefully when i get near the Isle of Man we can meet up. If you, or any other, are still languishing round the Isle of Arran perhaps we can have a short cruise in company. Will not be there in time for the festival - inspite of my high speed !!!!

I have started--- on my own again!
Left on 01 may. Now in Dieppe
Want to get to Cherbourg by 06 June as a friend is taking me to the D Day festivals if i can get there in time
I now have an AIS transponder & can be tracked on marine traffic
Just across the marina is a brand new Hanse 57.5
Have kept in hiding in case they see my "My Hanse " flag. There is enough crew aboard to drink me dry in minutes!!
Dave , you have got a lot to answer for , selling my wife that flag!. She insisted I hoisted it before I left.

I tracked him to Dover, Dave, but he zoomed off before I could get there (only 45 minutes from me). Really tight these East Coasters and that's obviously not from drinking!

I do not like to tell you this Charles but in the last 3 posts you have still only stayed on 978 points
You will not become an admiral by complaining about the hierarchy being tight wads

I can't help feeling nasty. Here am I stuck at home watching Arsenal Ladies win the FA Cup and there are you enjoying the best of French weather on a fantastic trip for the next few months.

Where are you off to next? I enjoyed Ouistram, visiting Pegasus Bridge. From Ouistram we sailed to Cherbourg, but stopping off inside the remaining Mulberry Harbour which was very atmospheric.

Le havre today & tomorrow-- inspite of adverse wind & tide!!
Then cherbourg- hopefully by 5 th in time for D Day festival on 6th
However, a problem may be developing. I change the saildrive oil every year so it was clean at the start
I have just checked level & i am pretty certain there are traces of water in the oil
When i get to Cherbourg i will buy an oil remover so i can get some oil out & check its condition as there may be a seal failing
Not sure how much i can run the drive like this but until i get to Cherbourg i can do little. At least there i can get technical help if need be
Oh well keep fingers crossed!!

If it was me, I would think seriously about going to Cherbourg on Tuesday rather than Wednesday or later. The wind will be Westerly on both days, but light on Tuesday and twice as strong on Wednesday. There are some systems moving in so could be hairy as the week progresses and with Cherbourg sticking out into the Channel and fast tides.

Hope the oil proves not to be milky. Is it an SD20? You could get a sample out by lowering a short tube in and stick your finger over the end when taking it out pipette fashion.
