On my 370 it’s reached the stage (20 years) where my original facnor unit is in the last throws of life. My plan is to struggle on with it for the rest of this season and change it over the winter. For those of you who have already changed your furler, 370 and 400, what did you charge to and how has it performed over time? As regards brands for the replacement, I don’t care, what I’m after is function and longevity.
Thanks in advance Simon

I have a Hanse 400 from 2006 that was originally fitted with a Harken system.
It use to be hard to furl, but after taking it appart I realized that the top most junction section was installed wring. After correcting it, it works like new (now on it's 20th season). So, my vote would be Harken. Also Selden (Furlex) has got good reviews. |

Hi Simon
On the advice of my Riggers I changed to a Bamar system in 2022. I'd never heard of them but apparently they're an Italian company that had restarted after a break with that particular product for some years. The price, including fitting and a new forestay, was just over £4000 then, which I recall was compellingly cheaper than the alternatives. After 3.5 seasons of pretty hard use it's still performing flawlessly. Good luck! Iain

If you can manage to dissemble the furler (use heat before unscrewing, otherwise the screws will break), then you could send the pieces to a company like "Hanfeld Masten" (https://hahnfeld-masten.de/de/148921-rollanlagen). They do facnor servicing and you will get your furler back nearly as new.
But if you need to spend money, than I would suggest the facnor flat furler. I will try to dissemble my furler on my 2009 Hanse 370 next winter.
