I need to replace my two Service batteries (AGM 2V/160ah). My broker and Boathoom list the Longex AGM 2V/160ah battery as being compatible for Hanse 418s and my boat, a Dehler38. However both of these boats need two batteries with flat terminal heads that protrude far enough for a battery bridge (clamp) to attach them together. I cannot find any AGM 2V/160ah batteries with “flat” not rounded terminals with holes in them to install in these sailboats. Ordering batteries from Germany is also very expensive. West Marine has an AGM 2V/160ah battery but it does not have the flat terminal heads either. What are people using in the US?

When my AGM 165Ah (x2) bow thruster bank went out, I had similar difficulty.  I did go the West Marine route with this one.  For clarity, the default picture shows tabs.  I didn't get any.  Instead, I had just bolts which you'll see if you click on one of the terminal zoom-ins.  Those bolts back all the way out.

I then bought some copper flat bar.  Couldn't find any locally at a variety of electrical supply shops -- thought they would have stock bus bar.  Anyway, a company like onlinemetals, speedy metals, etc.  I went with 1/4" thick and about an inch wide.  Then cut to length, bent a 90 degree, and then drilled holes.  Short end to mount to the battery.  I think I had to do a few different holes on the longer standing end to accommodate a variety of things hanging off (e.g., voltage monitor, charger and loads etc.).  Maybe something like this could work for you.

Try looking at Victron AGM’s. I swapped out my factory Q batteries for the Victron 165ah AGM’s and it was an exact fit with the same terminals for the factory joining bars. Didn’t have to modify anything. I bought them from a local supply house that just had them shipped from the Victron warehouse wherever that was - Peterson Marine IIRC, but they were listed at other shops as well online.
