Hello I would like to buy an IS15 Wind Transducer for 2002 Hanse311 masthead .
Does anyone have a working item available ?.
I’m advised locally to buy a complete new array of instruments because the IS15 legacy products are considered obsolete!.
I have ordered replacement bearings but am not confident that the repair will be successful. Many thanks
Marcus

hello Marcus,
As you've discovered, it's tricky to find this equipment nowadays.  A few people carry new 'old stock', but its not cheap.  Try https://movemarine.com/ in Denmark, contacting Martin or Marcel, as they have a good supply of reconditioned items (with warranty) and a few items of new 'old stock'.  I recently bought an IS15 display from them and was very happy with the service.  It's not cheap, but it was easier than throwing everything off the boat and starting again.  The problem is deferred for another day.
You may get lucky and find that somebody has upgraded their equipment and has a working masthead unit.
Good luck,
Tim

Thanks Marcus.  By all means mention 'Tim from La Spezia' if you are in touch with the guys.
I will keep an eye out via a rigger friend who is occasionally involved in changing such equipment, but it's very low probability.  Do you know which element of the instrument has failed please? is it just the bearings for the anemometer?

It's not my expertise, but alas it seems that the IS15 kit has a different operating system to IS20 instruments, which are slightly more freely available, even though they too are considered old by modern standards.  other members on the forum will be ore knowledge, and it sounds as though you've read extensively on the subject.
Having been through this cycle on my previous boat (from 1995), multiple items were failing, and I went with the wireless TackTick (now Raymarine) system and had no regrets.
Warm wishes,
Tim
