Hi.
There is not a lot of info I can find on the gennaker and the #1/145 Genoa options.
If you had the double forestay would you need a gennaker?
Other options?
Mainly Caribbean sailing.

I am also quite interested in this...asking myself if I want this second forestay or not.

From the theory it seems the 145% genoa is very useful for sailing upwind in light air, while a gennaker is more a downwind one.
So having all 3 ( self-tacking jib, genoa and gennaker) would probably have you covered from light upwind to, say 140 TWA moderate wind (I guess)...?
But you can also do fine with just gennaker and jib, right? The downside is that you loose some speed in lighter winds?

After discussing with a few sailmakers, I have decided to get the second forestay but hold off on the sails.  "Apparently " the stock sailplan with the self tacker is versatile.
The 145 seems to not be a Genoa and strictly a reaching sail  - unfortunately no one has polars for any of the sail options.
There are also many new advanced headsail options out there and I thought I would wait and see.
If anyone has good experience I would like to know more!

I have ordered the outer forestay and a very lightwind 106m2 Code Zero created of:
40% 113g/m2
55% 131g/m2
5% 152g/m2

I hope it will be good for 60-135 TWA and up to about 15kn.
