Segelleistung Selbstwendefock und Genua

Hello sailing friends of the Hanse Yachts,

I bought a 385 and would like to have new sailing dresses made. Now my SY only has the self-turning fock. How different (in normal wind conditions) it is with Genoat 1,2 or 3 to sail. What would you have made? Which sailing material durability / performance pays off with the 385? Which manufacturer did you take?

I would be very grateful for hints and tips!

Hallo Segelfreunde der Hanse Yachts, 
Ich habe mir eine 385 zugelegt und möchte neue Segelkleider herstellen lassen. Nun hat meine SY nur die Selbstwendefock. Wie unterschiedlich (bei normalen Windverhältnissen ) ist es mit Genuat 1,2 oder 3 zu Segeln. Was würdet ihr herstellen lassen ? Welches Segelmaterial Haltbarkeit/ Leistung zahlt sich bei der 385 aus ? Welchen Hersteller habt ihr genommen ? 
Ich wäre Euch für Hinweise und Tip‘s sehr dankbar !

	Hallo PunchB, first of all, in my opinion your boat is not capable of a Genoa 1 or 2, sorry to say that.... you will miss the turbobooster. The reason are your shrouds/Stays, these are on the outside of the hull so your boat can only handle a 110% Genoa in my opinion, maybe 115% that depends on the spreaders as the sail will be inside the stays.. A genoa 1 has a overlapping of 140-150% A genoa 2 has a overlapping of 120 to 140% A genoa 3 has a overlapping of about 100 to 120% On my Hanse 370 i am able to sail a Genoa 2 (135%) (shrouds inside) . This is not possible on a Hanse 385 or 388. On a 385 it is better to buy a Code 0 which runs outside the stays. You should ask your sailmaker what ist possible.... As material i would choose for a good cruising performance laminate as for a dcx or cdx (reasonable price) as long as there is not to much or no overlapping with the mast. There are a lot other (and maybe better) materials out there. It all depends on your budget. My sails (Main and selftacker), made of cdx are now 10 years old and are still ok. Only my genoa is made out of dacron, as the big genoa always hits the mast and stays in tacks, and this will destroy a cdx or dcx laminate very fast. My sails are from tuchwerkstatt.de
