Hi Frank,
I have bought a 311 recently and also the gennaker.

Please can you send a small drawing since it sounds very interesting.

Ciao

Hi,

This I got from the previous owner of my Hanse

`I never used the rails with sailing the gennaker but I always took the beam when the wind was from behind untill half and a little more.`

Okee, 2 blocks at the footrail almost on the back end of the boat:

We use special Wichard footrail ?? (don't know the description..):

Run's with 2 lines to the Clew of the Genaker. And we use the selftacker line as a downhaul so that we can fly the genaker when we want (like a spinaker):

Hope this is usefull?

Thank you Frank,
this is very helpful.
Does not the selftacker line (downhaul) disturb the jib furling ?
Thank you,

Luke - Blu

We use the bow anchor for the tack line on our 342. Here's a picture of it.

Johan

PS. Check the bird's style on the hatch.

Hi Johan, that's just what we do! Super!! and a good picture to see that the line does not disturb the furling jib. It works Superb and the picture of Johan show a lovely bird.

So good luck with the Genaker (or Asym. Spi).

Hello,

Thanks for you information and pictures so far!!

These pictures explains a lot. I already bought myself a block to connect to the genaker boom. Only have to buy two block to fit at the end of my boat. The last picture clearly shows how the jib sheet is connected to the genaker. I tie the jib sheet with a knot (paalsteek) to the sheet, so that makes it easy to untie it and tie it through the block to the genaker

Greetz,
Gregor
