The network also has to be "terminated" with a resitor at each end of the backbone. There is a resistor built into the wind vane and at the other end there should be a plug plugged into a T-joiner. If the terminator is missing the data might "wander back" throught the cable and give you strange readings.
This is what I have learnt. Johan |

I know the windvane has a terminator build in. The second one is said to be placed at the stern. I suggest it is connected to one of the is20. Need to look next time for it.

Hi,
We had a wonderful sailing weekend. We started Saturday morning with a 15-20 knots southern wind for Poros island. Needless to say that we were the only visitors in an else very crowded harbor. ![]() Next day we saw the storm coming and left early for our marina near Athens. Some fotos of our departure, Poros and the storm: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The storm was all around us with occasional showers and thunders. The wind was coming from alternating directions as was created by the clouds.

Hi,
I stopped taking fotos when the storm caught us! But you can see the clouds hanging from the sky. Usually there is sunshine in winter!!!! And believe me it was cold! We just don't have winter outfit. I was wearing ski underwear inside the wetsuit. And it is not true that you sail in this outfit in summer . I was for 25 days last July in Greifswald to receive the boat and sailed to Denmark in August. Most of the time the weather was very good!Edited by panos - 26 February 2009 at 11:26 |

Here is the foto of the parts from simrad i got today to solve the problem of strange readings on the wind is20:
It is a standart t-joiner i have to mount unter the mastbase where the windvane is connected
and a so called Simnet Noise Filter Product Number 24006934.
I will mount it at the beginning of the season and will tell you than if this worked.
As you see it is not the red terminator.
Simrad wrote in the letter: Due to known interferences in the simnet bus, we send a t-joiner and a simnet filter
