The sheet on our boom vang as it enters the cockpit with the vang released does not fit > 1 wrap around the winch. Is that by design? Am I not supposed to crank in the vang on the winch?
Right now I have to pull it in with my hands, then crank in the main at which point I can further pull in the vang, etc. Wondering if this is by design or a commissioning issue. On our previous boat we used the winch to tighten the vang without any issues.

Hi bigcat,
It is definitively not by design; mine is getting easily back to the aft locker where i give it a few turns to store it away. |

Thanks Rich, I will push the dealer for a longer sheet. The dealer was going to check with the factory but we kind of lost track of this. Time to bring it up again as our next service is coming up...

definitely not by design,I have about 2 m left after the winch when the boom is free

bigcat, you should be able to find the lenght of all the different lines in your handbook. check it out.

Hi all,
ages since my last post ... and a few issues in between while still enjoying the bot a lot, I'll write something soon, My handbook says 11m, too, like Frank's (btw : cheers Frank) but I have bigcat's same issue. My H345 ws delivered in May 2013, with Z-Spar mast and boom. When I asked dealer, I was told that Hanse won't accept a claim for this. Maybe it's time for me to check how long are these 11 m ...
