My Hanse 345, november 2115:
The skin fitting is a kind of plastic and the valves is metal.
Is the skin fitting plastic or composite like Tru Design ?

Hi Bernt,

My understanding is Hanse are using glass filled nylon synthetic skin fittings from true design but i would check with your dealer to be sure. Plastimo and others make synthetic skin fittings from Polypropylene which is nothing like glass filled nylon in terms of strength.

Likewise i would be replacing the DZR brass ball valves and hose tails with true design ones as soon as possible. lets hope one day Hanse does all of it not just the skin fittings.

Thanks a log. Hanse support now told me it’s TruDesign skin fittings in my boat😄

I have recently purchased a 2016 345 and I note that the handbook states "ALL THROUGH HULL FITTINGS SHOULD BE REVISED OR REPLACED LATEST EVERY 5 YEARS". 
Are they True Design? should I replace them? What is the consensus ?
