I am reading through the posts on the SLS issues and you had indicated you have the wiring diagram for the lights.   The SLS does not dim but just turns the lights on or off.  I have to have the panel light on for the SLS lights to work.   This same switch is turning on all of the lights in the saloon.  I canít turn off the saloon lights without turning off the Lights in the rest of the boat cabin including the saloon lights.  At night when we go to bed we have to use flash lights.  If I could isolate the saloon lights then I likely could solve the problem .  Any manual or wiring diagram might help.

I have the main wiring diagrams for the 385 if anyone wants to PM me I can email it.  I also looked for the SLS manual on Sentinel but I couldn't find it.  I had a hard copy but it went to the new owner when I sold the boat.
@SailingVoyager: The SLS DOES dim the lights.  A single push on the button works like an on/off toggle.  Press and hold will cycle the lights from bright to dim.  The S1 and S2 functions are also programmable so they instantly set the lights in a pre-determined configuration (including brightness).

From the descriptions of this problem, it would appear that the issue is that the main saloon spotlights stay on regardless of what you try on the SLS.

If this is the case I guess it indicates that the SLS itself is at fault and probably that circuit has become shorted so that is remains on whenever the main switchboard panel is on.

Unfortunately access to the SLS is made difficult by the galley sink, however if you want a solution without the cost of SLS replacement, I would try to disconnect the main saloon lights from SLS entirely and add a secondary switch just for these.  This would be straightforward if access was better!

[Edit: I have just seen KNicks's response on the other SLS thread.  It sounds like water ingress may be the culprit, affecting the SLS circuits.  So first step will be to remove this panel and try to dry it out!]

Hey guys, I just came upon this thread. Iíve had many dealing with the SLS system on my boat and know the system quite well. One question though, on your boats, doesnít the SLS remote pad control a dimmer unit else where on the boat and is that accessible? All the light circuits controlled by the remote pad will terminate there, including the main salon. That would be the place to start trouble shooting. Maybe a short circuit rendering the main lights always on, or maybe a misswire. Either way they can be disconnected at the dimmer unit to find out.
