Hello you all,

Thought I would share with you my experience so fare with my new Hanse 545.

The boat sails and motors like a dream. It is much much faster than my previous boat ( Hanse 430e).  Speed in excess of 9 knots is common at most wind angles as soon as you have 9 m/s or more. Even though the boat is big and heavy it also sails well in low wind conditions. With motor you easily hit 9 knots with about 85% of max rev. Max speed will be well in excess of 10 knots.

As with any new boat there have been a few problems which we discovered after the commissioning process; navigation instruments (radar and wind instruments), webasto and adjustment of doors are the major issues. Everything is hopefully  going to be taken care of by the dealer.

Many of these issues could have been dealt with had we spend more time in Greifswald. A couple of extra days in addition to the week we spend  would have given more time to test the boat and fix the problems.

My dealer did do a good job in the commissioning process making sure that  Hanse delivered all the equipment which was ordered.

So to all of you who are buying a new boat, spend at least one week in Greifswald and make sure you have chosen a dealer who will on site during the commissioning process and finally  make sure that the boat comes with everything you order

 Cheers

I will post some pic later
