Did you go for the JT50 or 70 and 2 batteries?  Are you installing battery to battery charger?

Jet thruster recommended the JT50, and I believe it will be ok, as the nozzles are only about 30” aft of the bow.
I am mounting it vertically forward of the bow water tank.
Two 25 degree nozzles fit directly in front of the bulkhead that’s under the chain locker.
The plumbing is very tight and I haven’t actually solved it yet.  There was no way to get the hose provided to fit, it’s too stiff and bulky.  I tried with silicone pipe but I don’t like the way it fits.  So still iterating.
It’s 24v, so two 75ah AGMs running in series.  I went with a Victron isolated 12-24v charger (15A).

Despite my earlier comment that the whole thing will fit inside the original retractor space I wondered after if there would be an issue if the intake and outlet were too close together? I am probably going to have it fitted,it’s about €3000 .In communication with Holland marine they have also suggested that the JT 50 is installed effectively on many 40”ish boats so Ill prob go for that too,and I think it’s a bit smaller for fitting purposes. Can’t you fit a 90deg elbow to get over the stiff pipe problem?Or maybe mount them a little further back and accept the slight loss of thrust leverage…everything is a compromise…

When the thruster is operating, the outlet is "downstream" from the inlet, so i don't think the proximity will be an issue.  Example - if you're trying to move the bow to port, the starboard thruster nozzle is flowing water, and the inlet under the boat is moving to port.

The challenges are:
1. The pump mount needs a custom ring to mount in the hull "v" and provide a flat surface against which to seal.  I had to fabricate that out of a 3D printed part and fiberglass/carbon fiber.  I'll post some pictures of what i did, and I'm happy to share the design (and actually some improvements on what i would do if I had to do it again)
2. My latest thought around plumbing will involve flexible hose (Vulco-flex).
3. There isn't a lot of room for shutoff valves...  there is a debate regarding their validity on the vertical installation, since you're not fitting the valve directly on the intake - it's after the pump, which then negates it's value if you have a leak in the pump.
4. You also need to fit 2x Group24 or larger AGM cells, my intent is to put one on either side of the pump.

I am driving to get this finished this weekend (at least the parts that drive being able to get back into the water), so once it's actually done and working, I'll post it here :)

How’s the jetthruster fit going?
your last message implied that the jetthruster intake nozzle moves ,is that correct? Also are any part of the hull on the 415 Bulsa cored or is it just the deck?

Nothing moves.  it's just as the bow swings to port for example, the intake is on the bottom on the centerline and the working jet is on the starboard side of the hull.  So the intake is moving into "undisturbed water" first, so no issues with re-ingesting water coming from the outlet nozzles.

All the hull is solid fiberglass, no core.  I believe the core starts above the waterline.

I got it to work.  But like i said it's not per "factory instructions".  I've done enough to get it watertight for launch, the rest of the install can be done once it's in the water...

So this is one of the nozzles.  I 3D printed a threaded ring that serves as a hose barb.  The major diameter is 2.5", so the hose fits over it snugly and there is enough room for the clamp on the back side to hold the hose in place securely.  The ring is sealed to the threads of the nozzle

This is the "mount ring" for the face of the vertical pump.  The pump is glued to this surface with Sika291, and the intake fitting threads into the pump and those threads are sealed.

Nice job and it all seems to fit neatly in the original space.I assume the batteries aren’t in yet as you were going to fit them either side of the motor?BTW did you check your anchor locker drain pipe while you were in there as mine was too long and had a kink which blocked it?

So the intake threading into the pump effectively sandwiches the black mounting ring onto the hull?
