Unstepping the mast questions

   I need to unstep the mast to put in a spin halyard sheeve block (why would anyone sell a new boat without this to begin with? I didn't order the spin option, but still figured the sheeve would be in there!)
Anyway, my main question is where do the wires coming down the mast disconnect from in the cabin. I have wind instrument cable, anchor light, deck light, think that as all. They go into the upside down U and then I know you can access this via the wood trim on the cabin ceiling by the mast. Do they run all the way to electric panel, or is there a bus bar up there to disconnect so it is just shorter cable? I know there is a nmea connection point in the port cockpit locker, I hope my wind instrument cable isn't attached there!

	If it is like other Hanse yachts, you should be able to remove a section of the cabin headlining by the mast to see where all the connections are between the mast wiring and the hull wiring. Your yacht will have been shipped with the two parts separate. On my 341, they were just the simple connector blocks, for both the instrumentation wiring and the power wiring. 	Thanks. Been using wago for past decade or so. Will take ceiling down when at the boat this week.

	Hello Boatman, We recently un-stepped the mast of our 2022, Hanse 348, #273 to transport the boat. You only need to unscrew the celling panel on the port side. The VHF, anchor light, mast head light and B&G instruments are easily detached at that point. When you re-step the mast, pass the VHF connector first, since it is largest and takes up the most room. If I can make one more suggestion regarding the Spin Halyard sheave. I have researched this topic extensively with Hanse and Selden. ALL the 348s have been supplied with the same Selden mast which has a combination forestay/Spin Halyard already attached, whether you ordered the Gennaker package or not. So you should have a Spin Halyard Sheave there already. Also note that if any sheave is placed by a non-approved Selden technician it will violate the Selden warranty. Selden has specifications that if you want to maximize the spin height, the opening should be 69 cm above the forestay halyard and if you want to maximize the code zero height, it should be 48 cm above the forestay height.
