Hello
I hope you are well. I was wondering f you could guide me in the right direction. My volvo D3 has produced 2 fault codes but I do not know how to decipher them. the first being MID 140 PPID 290 FMI 3 the second being MID 128 PSID 55 FMI 11 Are you able to check this on your list for me please or send the list? Thanks in advance

Zee,
Odd error code for a D3 on a Hanse yacht? MID 140 PPID 290 FMI 3 refers to the power trim - error = "Power trim signal or supply" MID 128 PSID 55 FMI 11 refers to = Voltage Amplifier 2" fault. Good luck.

Hiya Wayne
Thanks for your swift response. no sorry this installation is not in a sailing yacht, it is in a British built sealine 25 that has been retrofitted by the previous owner with a volvo d3 160 in place of the old kad32. from lack of knowledge i presumed the forum was a generic boating forum, only after your response did I realise a Hanse was a particular boat brand. hopefully you will still be able to offer me your help! Having checked the trim sender, the potentiometer has infinite resistance so that makes sense. does the voltage amplifier refer to a fuel system sensor or injector would you know please? Thanks in advance Zee

Zee,
The MID128 series of error codes refer to the fuel system. The PSID 55 doesn't mention any other details just - Voltage Amplifier 2. Sorry I couldn't offer any further help.

you have been of much help and I am very grateful for your assistance. I know early d3's had issues with connectors to the PCU and breaks in wiring so I will start with disconnecting all the plugs, cleaning them and see if there is a difference, I know neighbouring berths have also had Mprop and and oressure sensor issues so I will look there afterwards.
would you like to me to post the fix here?

Hi all,
Ran into trouble with my 2007 Volvo Penta 5.0 GXi this weekend - after sitting in the marina for a couple of weeks, it kept flooding the spark plugs and would not start. I finally got it running again but the "Check Engine" fault with error code MID 128 PID 51 FMI 4 keeps persisting. Any chance someone could share the PDF with error codes? Googling the fault points in too many directions so I'd like to identify the actual fault before further troubleshooting. Thanks, Rauno

I am not sure it is right, I have a D3 engine : 128 PSID51 Chemin de coupure redondant . there is no fmi reference for this message ...sorry it's in French , but I prefer not to translate it because that's what I have ! the fault code table I have is from 2011...i sent you a private message .
