Hi Jan Willem,

Cabling for the hot water heater should be foreseen under the PS Aft berth. Power is supplied from the AC breaker panel under the seat aft of the chart table. The red button controls the water heater. This location also makes for easy routing of hoses for connection to the engine cooling water system.

I believe our water heater has a 20ltr capacity, and was installed in the boat in the factory or just before delivery.

Be sure to buy the stainless version. In my boat, Hanse had put the non-stainless model. After 7-8 years the mounting straps were corroded through, and large spots of rust appeared on the body of the heater. I then changed to the stainless boiler.

Just a heads up on Isotherm Calorifiers.
I have had two units fail in both my Hanses. Investigation found the materials used are not good quality or correctly choosen for long life. The pressure vessels in both cases vitreous lined steel [not Stainless]. The joint between tank end and heat exchanger coil is poorly made and liable to corrosion fail/leak.
I have experience of domestic water heater tanks made in Italy sold widely in France, made to same standard as the Isotherm yacht calorifiers. French plumbers told me these fail regularly after 5-10 years in a comparitivly benign domestic environment. The vitreous inner coating fails early, and the pressure vessel soon fails.
I currently use Calorifiers made by https://www.surejust.co.uk/. The surejust units are well made with the best quality materials at a similar price here in UK to Isotherm products.
