Hello,
we recently noticed some water in the quarter cabin next to the stern head. In the first step, we scraped out the silicone (marked yellow in the pictures) and left the open joint to dry for 4 weeks. After sealing everything with silicone and using the shower again, we noticed water in the corner of the aft cabin again. (red circle) I now believe that the “trim strips” are not flush with the shower wall and that water is penetrating through the narrow slit into the substructure and thus into the corner of the aft cabin. My question is, has anyone ever removed these “trim strips” and re-glued them with silicone? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Firstly, I have a 385, so, there might be differences to the structure, but the pictures look very similar to what I have. One thing to note is, if there is water inside the wall, there is a chance of rotting - as the walls have a wooden core. Maybe it is different on your boat though.
